Avondale, Bantham

Avondale is situated close to the village of Bantham which is near to the mouth of the river Avon and close to Kingsbridge and Salcombe. Located in the beautiful South Hams region of Devon there are some fabulous walks in the area along the banks of the River Avon as well as the South West Coastal Path. Bantham also has a magnificent sandy beach which is reputed to be one of the best surfing beaches on the south Devon coast. 

 

There is an excellent pub in Bantham called 'The Sloop', and a village shop. The beach of Bigbury on Sea is just across the river and there are fabulous views of Burgh Island with it's famous Art Deco Hotel.

 

There are several golf courses in the area including the wonderful 18 hole golf links at Thurlestone. The nearby village of Thurlestone has a Post Office/General Store, whilst 4 miles away in Kingsbridge there is a Tesco and a Morrisons store. There are Intercity rail services from Plymouth and Totnes to London Paddington.
